Scholarship Guidelines and how to request:
1. PURPOSE
The scholarships provided by the Student Angler Tournament Trail are designed to assist in the financial burden put on families. Our hope is to aid high performing anglers and to randomly selected individuals to say thank you for supporting the Student Angler Tournament Trail. Our goal is not to make this process to restrictive, by doing so we put a lot of trust in the anglers that are awarded the scholarship to attend and finish school. We also do not restrict based off location, so if you attend out of state, we will support that as well.
2.PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY
Scholarships are awarded at the Tournament of Champions based off the team’s finish. At times there may also be scholarships made available and drawn from the list of anglers that participated throughout the year on a random basis.
When scholarships are presented to the team of two anglers, the funds are split. So, a $10K scholarship for a team of two is designated as $5K for each student, and funds cannot be granted or transferred to anyone else.
Scholarships funds will be kept for a period of two years, after the student’s graduation. If the funds are not used by that time, they will be put back into the scholarship fund to be used for other events. These scholarships are valid for one school year and are not renewable.
3. RESTRICTIONS
Scholarships are to be used for any 4-year Graduate, 2-year Trade, Community College, Lineman, Police, Sheriff, State Patrol, First Responder, Fire and Rescue school or can be used for an apprenticeship with approved paperwork. Scholarships will also be awarded for those enlisted in any military branch with approved signed enlisted notice from their recruiter or other military official.
4. HOW TO REQUEST PAYMENT
Within the two-year window from the date of graduation please make a request to [email protected] after you have registered for any of the school types listed above. Funds will be made available to the students account at the associated school. We will need Student ID and contact to send check to at the associated school. Please include a copy of your registration or invoice with your email request that clearly shows your student ID and the address to send the payment to. A check made payable to the school will then be mailed out as soon as possible after it is reviewed.
If you are starting an apprenticeship program through a company, please submit a letter from the company with your start date, type of apprenticeship and expected duration and an explanation of your needed items for your apprenticeship. A check made payable to you will then be mailed out as soon as possible after it is reviewed. The Student Angler Tournament Trail will make final determination after paperwork is received and reviewed.
If you are enlisted in the military or have completed boot camp in any military branch, please submit a letter from your recruiter, or command with your enlistment day, and other other pertinent information.
